Cameroon has joined Morocco, Mali, and Senegal in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after a tense 2-1 win over South Africa in Rabat on Sunday.

The Indomitable Lions took control early when Junior Tchamadeu opened the scoring in the 34th minute. Just two minutes into the second half, Christian Kofane doubled the lead, giving Cameroon a comfortable cushion.

South Africa fought back late, with Evidence Makgopa pulling a goal back in the 88th minute, setting up a nervy finish.

Despite the late pressure, Cameroon held on to secure their spot in the last eight of the tournament.
