Obi Cubana has been honored with a chieftaincy title by the Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri Traditional Council in Anambra State.
The businessman revealed in a Sunday statement that he was conferred with the title Ife-Igbo-Ji-Ka-Mba during a ceremony held on Saturday in Enugwu-Ukwu. The title was bestowed by Igwe Ralph Obumneme Ekpe, the traditional ruler of the community.
The council said the title was awarded in recognition of Cubana’s accomplishments in business, philanthropy, and his efforts to promote Igbo culture and excellence. The name of the title, which translates roughly as “the pride of the Igbo before the world,” is reserved for individuals who have made notable contributions to entrepreneurship and community development.
During the ceremony, the monarch and council members highlighted Cubana’s leadership, business success, and involvement in social initiatives, underscoring the positive impact he has had on the Igbo community.
Obi Cubana expressed gratitude for the recognition, promising to continue supporting initiatives that create economic opportunities and drive community growth. He also said the honour would encourage him to further champion Igbo heritage both in Nigeria and abroad.
The event was attended by notable figures from banking, oil and gas, real estate, and hospitality, as well as community leaders and business executives.
