El Rufai Lawyers React To Arrest Move
Lawyers to former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El Rufai, have criticised what they described as an attempted arrest by operatives of the Department of State Services.
They said the action was unnecessary and politically motivated.
The legal team stated that their client has not ignored any lawful invitation and is willing to cooperate with authorities.
According to them, El Rufai will appear at the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday as scheduled.
They maintained that due process must be followed in all investigations and warned against actions that could inflame tensions.
The lawyers also called on security agencies to act within the law.
There has been no official statement from the DSS on the alleged attempt, while attention now turns to Monday’s planned appearance at the anti graft agency.
