The African Democratic Congress chapter in the Federal Capital Territory has thrown its weight behind the leadership of David Mark amid ongoing internal disputes.

The position was made known in Abuja on Wednesday through a statement issued by the party’s local officials.

The FCT chapter rejected opposing views from some state leaders and urged members to stay united.

It advised aggrieved members to settle differences through internal party channels rather than taking legal action that could deepen divisions.

The move comes as the party faces a leadership crisis, with rival factions battling for control. Independent National Electoral Commission had earlier removed the Mark-led leadership from its records following a court directive to maintain the status quo.

The chapter also called on party leaders to restore calm and focus on strengthening the party ahead of future elections, stressing that unity remains key to achieving its political goals.
