FG Issues Flood Alert For 10 States
The Federal Government has warned that heavy rainfall could hit several parts of Nigeria between April 8 and April 12, raising the risk of flooding in affected areas.
The alert covers communities expected to experience intense downpours during the period.
States listed include Ebonyi, Anambra, Ogun, Taraba, Cross River, Benue, Imo, Delta, Rivers and Abia. Authorities say these locations may face flooding if the predicted rainfall persists over the coming days.
The warning comes as part of efforts to prepare residents and reduce potential damage to lives and property.
Communities in low-lying areas are considered most at risk during the forecast window.
Officials have urged residents to stay alert and take precautionary steps as the country enters a period of increased rainfall activity.
