Government Issues Warnings To Kid Content Creators
The Lagos State Government has issued a stern warning to online content creators who infringe on children’s rights, signalling plans to take action against those producing harmful or exploitative material involving minors.
The announcement comes amid rising concern over how children are portrayed and treated in digital content.
Officials said the government is monitoring social media and digital platforms for posts that violate laws protecting children, and that appropriate sanctions will follow for offenders.
The move reflects growing awareness of the need to safeguard minors from exploitation, abuse, and exposure to inappropriate material online.
Authorities noted that while creativity and expression are valued, they must not come at the expense of children’s welfare, dignity or safety.
The government said it will work with relevant agencies to enforce rules and ensure that content remains within legal and ethical boundaries.
Creators are urged to be mindful of regulations and to respect the rights and privacy of children in their work. Failure to do so, the government cautioned, could lead to penalties, account restrictions or legal action.
