IGP Names New Police PRO
The Inspector General of Police has appointed Anthony Okon Placid as the new Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force.
He replaces Benjamin Hundeyin, who previously served as the official spokesperson for the police headquarters.
The appointment was part of a wider administrative reshuffle within the police leadership aimed at strengthening operations and communication at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
Placid, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, is expected to take over the responsibility of managing public communication and media relations for the force.
Hundeyin had served as the police spokesperson for a period during which he handled major public communications, policy explanations and media engagements on behalf of the force.
With the new appointment, the police leadership says the change is part of routine postings designed to improve efficiency and support ongoing reforms within the organisation.
