INEC Results Of All FCT Council Poll
The All Progressives Congress moved ahead in several councils as results trickled in from Saturday’s Federal Capital Territory elections, even as turnout remained thin across many polling units.
Figures uploaded to INEC’s Results Viewing Portal showed the party leading in Kwali, Kuje and AMAC, while the Peoples Democratic Party held ground in parts of Gwagwalada and Bwari.
By late evening, APC had posted 2,726 votes in surveyed units in Kwali against PDP’s 2,104 and ADC’s 180.
In Kuje, APC led with 615 votes ahead of PDP’s 393.
In AMAC, APC recorded 2,520 votes, while PDP led in Gwagwalada with 2,019 votes as uploads continued across councils.
Despite the peaceful setting in many areas, voter participation was low. Some units recorded only a handful of voters out of hundreds registered.
Civil society groups reported cases of vote buying in parts of AMAC and raised concerns about late arrivals of officials, missing names on registers and confusion over new polling units.
The African Democratic Congress accused the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, of interfering by visiting polling centres during voting hours, an allegation his aide dismissed.
As collation continued, INEC said it was steadily uploading results from across the six area councils to ensure transparency.
