IPOB Raises Alarm Over APC 2027 Moves
The Indigenous People of Biafra has cautioned members of the All Progressives Congress in Abia State against what it described as moves that could disrupt the South-East ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a statement issued on Sunday by its Southeast Welfare Coordinator, Osinachi Obi, the group accused some APC figures of trying to control political structures in the region.
IPOB said it was watching developments closely and would resist any effort to force candidates on the people.
The group claimed it would not accept actions capable of destabilising Abia or other South-East states as political activities gather pace.
It pointed fingers at the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, alleging he was working to stir unrest in Abia.
The group also accused Chris Nkwonta, who represents Ukwa East and Ukwa West Federal Constituency, of fuelling division for political gain.
According to IPOB, certain APC politicians were relying on former governors and political allies to sway future elections.
The group insisted that attempts to influence outcomes through such means would be resisted as preparations for 2027 intensify.
