Kano Donates N50m To ABU
On Saturday in Zaria, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf announced a ₦50 million donation to Ahmadu Bello University to support the creation of a Technology Innovation Hub during the institution’s 45th convocation ceremony.
The project is expected to strengthen research and innovation on campus.
The fund will be channelled through a collaboration involving the Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Foundation and AMA Pharmaceuticals Limited.
The initiative is aimed at boosting youth development, education, leadership training and wider economic inclusion among students.
The governor said the support reflects Kano’s focus on education, skills building and partnerships that grow human capital.
He praised those involved in driving the project, noting that the hub would help students turn ideas into practical solutions and business ventures.
The event also featured the conferment of an honorary Doctor of Science degree on Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala in recognition of her service and global impact, adding further significance to the ceremony.
