Kano Governor Sacks Top Official
Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has removed the state Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, from office with immediate effect. The announcement was made on Tuesday through a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa.
The decision was taken as part of efforts by the administration to restructure the state civil service and improve discipline, efficiency and service delivery across government institutions.
The governor expressed appreciation to the outgoing official for his service to the state and wished him well in his future activities. The government also confirmed that a new leadership arrangement would take effect immediately.
Bilkisu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary for Administration and General Services at the Cabinet Office, has been directed to take over in an acting capacity until a substantive Head of Service is appointed.
Musa has been asked to hand over all responsibilities by Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
