Kwankwasiyya Movement Sends Strong Warnings To Kano Govt
The Kwankwasiyya Movement has warned against any attempt to remove the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, through impeachment, saying such a step could worsen political divisions in the state.
The warning was issued by the movement’s spokesperson, Habibu Sale Mohammed, who said reports of a possible impeachment plan have raised concerns among residents and political supporters across Kano.
He said while the constitution allows lawmakers to carry out oversight duties, impeachment remains a serious action that should not be used to settle political disagreements or reshape alliances within government.
Mohammed also reminded the state leadership that the administration came to power through the combined efforts of Kwankwasiyya supporters across all 44 local government areas, stressing that any move seen as targeting key figures could send the wrong message to loyal supporters.
He further urged members of the Kano State House of Assembly to handle their responsibilities carefully and independently, warning that actions viewed as political persecution could create unnecessary tension in the state.
