Lawmakers Raise Alarm On Threats To Petrol Cost
The House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) has warned that petrol prices could rise again if supply problems affecting local refineries are not resolved.
The committee said ongoing challenges in the downstream sector are limiting production and distribution, putting pressure on the availability of petroleum products nationwide.
Lawmakers expressed concern that without urgent action from relevant government agencies, the situation may worsen and lead to higher costs for consumers.
They urged authorities to fix the supply-side issues facing refineries to stabilise the market and prevent further hardship for Nigerians.
