Governors Seyi Makinde and Bala Mohammed, together with PDP National Chairman Tanimu Turaki, reportedly expelled the Nyesom Wike-led faction from the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Monday.
The confrontation occurred at Wadata Plaza when rival factions attempted to hold parallel meetings on the same day. Both the newly elected National Working Committee (NWC) in Ibadan and the Wike-backed group had scheduled gatherings, which escalated tensions.
Samuel Anyanwu, National Secretary of the pro-Wike faction, arrived at the secretariat with members of his team, but clashes broke out, forcing the Wike faction to leave the premises.
Despite the disruption, Governors Makinde, Bala Mohammed, and Turaki gained entry to the PDP NEC hall and conducted their planned NEC meeting.
