Mirabel Released As Probe Deepens
In Ogun State, police have handed over TikTok influencer Abigeal Nsikak, known as Mirabel, to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development as investigations into her rape allegation continue.
She had voluntarily reported to a police station following public debate over her claims.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said she presented herself willingly and underwent medical checks.
He added that she has been cooperating with investigators and was released to the ministry for care and support while the case progresses.
The matter first gained attention in February after Mirabel shared emotional videos online, alleging she was attacked and sexually assaulted at her home in Ogijo.
The posts sparked outrage and financial support from members of the public and some celebrities.
Questions later emerged over alleged inconsistencies, including the lack of signs of forced entry and missing phone records.
In a later exchange with activist VeryDarkMan, she said she might not have been raped.
Police say no arrests have been made and the inquiry remains ongoing, urging the public to avoid speculation.
