NDLEA Arrests Ex-Lawmakers Over Drug Trafficking
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a former two-term councillor in Ibeju-Lekki, Sheleru Sadiq Olalekan, over alleged involvement in illicit drug sale and trafficking.
According to the agency, the arrest followed credible intelligence linking the former lawmaker to a network involved in the distribution of illegal drugs within the area.
Operatives reportedly carried out surveillance before moving in to apprehend the suspect.
The NDLEA said investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the alleged drug trafficking activities and to identify possible accomplices connected to the operation.
Authorities added that the suspect may face prosecution if the allegations are substantiated, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to cracking down on drug-related crimes across the country.
