Nigeria Power Supply Improving – FG
The Federal Government announced on Sunday that electricity generation in Nigeria rose within a short period, reflecting a modest improvement in supply.
The update covered output levels recorded between late March and early April.
Authorities said power generation moved from 3,951 megawatts on March 28 to about 4,300 megawatts by April 10.
The increase came as efforts continued to stabilise the grid and improve overall performance in the power sector.
The rise is linked to ongoing interventions aimed at boosting generation capacity and addressing technical issues affecting supply. Officials noted that gradual improvements are expected as more plants operate closer to capacity.
Despite the gain, power supply remains below national demand, with many consumers still facing unstable electricity.
The government said work is ongoing to strengthen infrastructure and deliver more reliable energy across the country.
