Nigeria Set to Launch Two Satellites
Nigeria is preparing to deploy two additional communication satellites into orbit as part of efforts to enhance national connectivity and promote digital inclusion.
The satellites aim to expand internet access, improve telecommunications infrastructure, and support e-governance and education initiatives across the country.
The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) confirmed that the new satellites will complement existing systems, providing broader coverage to underserved regions, including rural communities and remote areas.
This move is expected to reduce reliance on foreign satellite services and strengthen local technological capabilities.
Officials said the launch will also support government plans for digital transformation, including boosting online services, banking, and e-learning platforms.
The satellites are designed to enhance broadband penetration and ensure stable, high-speed communication nationwide.
The project signals a major step forward for Nigeria’s space programme, aligning with global trends in satellite deployment to improve economic, social, and technological development.
