No Life Was Lost During Fire – FAAN
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has confirmed that no lives were lost after a fire broke out at Terminal 1 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, which is currently being renovated by the Federal Government.
The incident sparked panic among people within the terminal area.
Witnesses said passengers and workers rushed to safety as soon as the flames were noticed. Emergency teams were quickly deployed to the scene to tackle the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.
In an update shared on X, FAAN said firefighters and other responders were immediately activated to manage the situation.
The agency stated, “FAAN wishes to inform the public of a fire outbreak at Terminal 1 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
Our firefighting team is currently responding and working to contain the situation. No loss of life has been recorded.”
As of the time of filing this report, efforts to completely put out the fire were still ongoing. The exact cause of the incident has not yet been identified.
