Ogun PDP Denies Executive Dissolution
The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State, Abayomi Tella, has dismissed reports claiming that the party’s national leadership dissolved the state executive committee.
He said the information circulating among party members and on social media was false and should be ignored.
Tella explained that the leadership elected and inaugurated on September 24, 2024, remains the recognised executive body of the party in the state.
He said the claim of a dissolution was an attempt by some individuals to create confusion and division within the party.
Earlier, a statement credited to the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Mohammed, announced that the Ogun State Executive Committee had been dissolved with immediate effect and that a caretaker committee would soon be announced to manage party affairs.
Reacting to the development, Tella described the alleged decision as unconstitutional and lacking proper authority.
He urged party members and supporters not to be distracted, adding that any effort to create division within the party would be challenged through lawful means.
