Ohanaeze Youths Blacklist Ex Governors
The Ohanaeze Youth Council has declared five South-East political figures unwelcome in Igboland over their political stance ahead of the 2027 elections.
Those named include David Umahi, Chris Ngige, Okezie Ikpeazu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Sullivan Chime.
The declaration was made in Enugu, where the group accused the politicians of turning against the interests of the region.
It said their support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid has angered many in the South-East.
Leaders of the group argued that the endorsement ignores long-standing concerns in the region, including political and economic issues.
They also questioned the influence and past records of the affected politicians.
The council called on residents to distance themselves from the five figures, urging political mobilisation ahead of 2027. The move reflects growing tension in the region as alignments begin to shift.
