Olorogun Oscar Ibru, billionaire entrepreneur and chairman of the Ibru Organisation, has died at the age of 67.
His family announced that he passed away after a brief illness but did not provide additional details about the circumstances surrounding his death.
As one of the most prominent heirs of the Ibru dynasty, Ibru was instrumental in preserving and expanding the vast business empire built by his late father, Olorogun Michael Ibru. The conglomerate boasts major interests in shipping, oil and gas, real estate, and commerce.
Celebrated as a visionary leader and custodian of his family’s legacy, Oscar Ibru kept the Ibru Organisation at the forefront of job creation, wealth generation, and philanthropic initiatives in Nigeria.
His passing marks another painful chapter for the Ibru family, coming years after the death of its patriarch, Michael Ibru, in 2016. Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon.
