Oluwo Speaks On Tinubu’s Third Term
In Nigeria, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has said many Nigerians may push for a constitutional amendment to allow President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to remain in office beyond the current two-term limit.
The monarch shared this view while commenting on the president’s leadership, suggesting that public support could drive calls for changes to the constitution in the future.
Nigeria’s constitution currently allows a maximum of two terms for presidents, and any move to extend that limit would require a major amendment process involving the National Assembly and state legislatures.
The remark adds to ongoing political conversations around leadership, governance, and the future ahead of the 2027 elections.
