Three Nigerian internationals—Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Calvin Bassey—have been selected in the official Team of the Tournament for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles wrapped up the competition in third place under coach Eric Chelle, with the trio playing key roles in the team’s campaign. Osimhen led the attack with four goals and two assists, while Lookman emerged as one of the tournament’s most creative players, delivering three goals and five assists in six matches.
At the back, Bassey was a commanding presence, providing stability and strength in defence throughout Nigeria’s run in Morocco.
The Team of the Tournament was chosen by the Confederation of African Football’s technical study group, based on players’ performances across the competition.
