Osun Workers Suffer As FG Retains Funds
Teachers, nurses and pensioners in Osun State have reportedly endured a year of hardship while about ₦130 billion in local government funds remains frozen in federal accounts.
Many are said to be surviving on loans and support from relatives as salaries and pensions stall.

The funds, meant for grassroots administration and essential services, are believed to be tied up in accounts controlled at the federal level.
The situation has left local councils struggling to meet obligations, including wage payments and basic operations.
For 12 months, workers across the state have faced mounting debts, unpaid bills and growing frustration. Retirees, in particular, are said to be among the worst hit, with some unable to access their entitlements.
The development has sparked fresh debate over local government autonomy and the management of public funds, as affected workers continue to wait for a resolution.
