Party Demands Tinubu And Defence Minister To Resign
The African Action Congress (AAC) has called for the resignation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Defence Minister Christopher Musa following the deadly bombings in Maiduguri.
In a statement issued on March 18, the party described the attacks, which reportedly killed over 20 people and injured more than 100, as evidence of failure in the country’s security leadership.
The AAC expressed sympathy with victims and residents, but said the incident reflects deeper systemic problems in governance and national security.
The party argued that repeated attacks across the country are not isolated, accusing the government of focusing more on political control than tackling insecurity.
It also criticised calls for patience from authorities, stating that insecurity and economic hardship have continued despite assurances.
The AAC warned that without urgent action, violence could spread further, urging Nigerians to demand accountability and engage in sustained civic action beyond elections.
