PDP Convention Set To Hold – Wike’s Camp
In Abuja, a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party aligned with Nyesom Wike has insisted that its national convention will go ahead as planned on March 29.
The group said preparations have been completed and nothing will stop the event.
Speaking ahead of the gathering, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed dismissed claims that legal action from a rival camp could halt the convention.
He said such reports exist only on social media and that no official court documents have been received.
The faction also rejected fears that the convention could be disrupted like the previous one in Ibadan.
According to them, this time the process follows party rules and has legal backing.
The group added that efforts were made to include members linked to Seyi Makinde, even as internal disagreements continue within the party.
Top party figures, including Bukola Saraki and Sule Lamido, are expected to attend the convention.
The faction maintained that members who disagree are free to stay away, stressing that the party has taken a clear direction ahead of the event.
