Three suspected financiers and informants linked to bandit gangs have been arrested by the police in Sokoto State, including Ruwa Ginyo, the Fulani leader of Gidan-Madi in Tangaza Local Government Area.
The suspects, believed to be middlemen for the Lakurawa bandit group, were arrested on 3 December 2025 at about 1400 hours while attempting to sell four rustled cows to unsuspecting buyers.
During interrogation, the men reportedly admitted that they helped facilitate the sale of stolen cattle and then forwarded the proceeds to bandits operating in the area.
All suspects have confessed to their roles in the operation, and police investigations are continuing to uncover additional connections and recover more stolen livestock.
