Power Companies Earn Big Amid Nigerians Complaints
Nigeria’s electricity distribution companies recorded a combined revenue of N2.33 trillion in 2025, even as many consumers across the country continued to complain about poor power supply and unstable electricity.
The earnings were generated by the companies responsible for distributing electricity to homes and businesses nationwide.
Despite widespread criticism from customers about frequent outages and weak service delivery, the firms still reported strong financial returns during the year.
The development has drawn attention from electricity users who have repeatedly raised concerns about billing, supply shortages and the overall performance of the distribution companies managing power in different regions.
The report comes as the country continues to face ongoing challenges in the power sector, with many households and businesses still relying on alternative energy sources due to inconsistent electricity.
