Rivers State House of Assembly on Thursday called on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to promptly submit the list of commissioner-nominees for screening and confirmation.
The call came as lawmakers returned to Port Harcourt for their first plenary since a six-month suspension triggered by the state’s emergency rule. The session was held at the Conference Hall of the Legislative Quarters on Aba Road.
During the sitting, the Assembly commended President Bola Tinubu for lifting the emergency rule and restoring democratic governance in Rivers State. Members also pledged to uphold agreements with key stakeholders to ensure peace and stability.
Governor Fubara, his deputy, and the lawmakers are set to resume their official duties following the presidential directive on Wednesday.
