Makinde Takes Aim At Wike
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has taken a swipe at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, questioning his role and influence within the Peoples Democratic Party.
Makinde suggested that Wike’s involvement in party matters outside his base lacked moral standing.
The governor argued that Wike only became prominent within the PDP around 2015 and was later pushed out in 2025.
He claimed this history made it difficult to understand why the former Rivers State governor was now showing interest in the affairs of the PDP in Oyo State.
Makinde also pointed to developments in Rivers State, saying Wike should first account for the condition of the party there before turning attention elsewhere.
He implied that unresolved issues within Rivers PDP weakened any claim to authority in another state.
The remarks add to growing internal disagreements within the PDP, reflecting deeper cracks as key figures openly trade words over influence, loyalty, and control within the opposition party.
