Six Robbers Arrested In Abuja
Six suspected armed robbers have been arrested by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command for allegedly targeting nightclubs and leisure centres across Abuja.
The arrests followed an intelligence report received by the FCT Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye, who ordered immediate action against the gang believed to be behind repeated violent attacks in the city.
Acting on the directive, detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department carried out a quiet, planned operation on Friday evening, January 17, 2026, leading officers to the suspects’ hideout in the Dakwa area of Dei-Dei.
Police investigations linked the group to several robberies, including an incident at Crystal Lounge in Wuse II, where a guest was robbed of gold jewellery worth about ₦15 million, later sold for a fraction of its value.
Items recovered during the arrest included a toy gun, knives, charms, and bags of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis. The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue, while police authorities urged residents to stay alert and report suspicious movements.
