Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has inaugurated 30 commissioners, 25 elected local government chairmen, their deputies, and several board members during a ceremony held in Minna.
The oaths of office and allegiance were administered by the Chief Judge, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik, who was represented at the event by Justice Maimuna Abubakar. The swearing-in took place at the Hauwa Wali Multi-purpose Hall.
In his remarks, Governor Bago said the new appointees were selected based on their proven competence and urged them to push forward the “New Niger agenda” aimed at building a more prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable state. He stressed the importance of learning from past experiences while working towards a better future for Niger State.
The Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman, also called on the newly sworn-in officials to demonstrate full dedication in their roles, noting that their commitment would be crucial to the success of the governor’s vision.
The board members sworn in include those of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board, the Secondary Education Board, and the Law Reform Commission.
Several of the officials expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve, pledging to work with determination to advance the governor’s plans for the progress and development of the state.
