Suspected IPOB Member Arrested in Enugu
Operatives of the Department of State Services have detained a suspected notorious Eastern Security Network commander, Sabastine Odo Odam, along with Ejike Daniel, a suspected member of the Indigenous People of Biafra, in Enugu State.
The arrests took place in Eha-Amufu and Umuhu in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area on Friday.
The suspects are believed to have orchestrated a series of violent attacks on police stations and killings in the region between 2024 and 2026.
These incidents reportedly included the February 26 killing of 11 labourers and the deaths of five policemen between December 24, 2025, and January 26, 2026.
Security sources revealed that both men confessed to masterminding the attacks and seizing weapons during the assaults.
Their apprehension follows intelligence-led operations aimed at curbing violence in the Southeast, which has been plagued by criminal activity linked to the ESN network.
The suspects are currently in custody and await arraignment. Authorities described the arrests as a key success in the ongoing fight against insecurity, with officials calling for continued vigilance to prevent further attacks in the area.
