Task Force Intercepts Illegal Crude Worth N300m
The Operation Delta Safe has intercepted vessels carrying illegally sourced crude oil valued at about 300 million dollars.
The operation took place in the Niger Delta as part of ongoing efforts to curb oil theft.
The security team acted on intelligence to track and seize the vessels involved in the illicit trade. The crude oil, believed to be diverted from pipelines, was recovered during the operation.
Authorities said the crackdown is aimed at protecting Nigeria’s oil resources and stopping criminal networks that profit from illegal refining and export.
The operation also forms part of wider efforts to secure the region.
The interception is seen as a major breakthrough in the fight against oil theft, which has long affected national revenue and environmental safety.
