Telcos Ordered To Compensate Users
The Nigerian Communications Commission has directed telecom operators to compensate subscribers over recent service disruptions.
The order follows growing complaints from users who experienced poor network quality and outages across the country.
The commission said affected customers must be fairly compensated, noting that service providers are responsible for maintaining reliable connections.
It added that operators must also take steps to prevent a repeat of such issues.
Industry players have been asked to review their systems and improve service delivery, especially as demand for data and voice services continues to rise.
The regulator stressed that consumers deserve value for the services they pay for.
The move is expected to restore confidence in the telecom sector, as subscribers continue to demand better service quality and accountability from providers.
