Tinubu Appoints New IGP
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Tunji Disu as the new Inspector-General of Police, replacing Kayode Egbetokun.
The appointment follows the resignation of Egbetokun, who stepped down after a directive from the President. Disu, a senior officer in the Nigeria Police Force, now takes over the leadership of the force at a critical time.
Before his elevation, Disu served as an Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Lagos.
He has also held key operational roles in different commands across the country.
The presidency is expected to issue further details on the transition, while police authorities prepare for a formal handover at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
