Tinubu Faces Release Calls Over Kanu’s Detention
A respected South East monarch, Dr Lawrence Agubuzu, the Eze Ogbunechendo of Ezema Olo Kingdom, has asked President Bola Tinubu to take a firm decision on the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu.
He said the Federal Government should either release the IPOB leader or return him to Kenya where he was arrested.
He made the appeal while speaking on the growing tension linked to the case.
According to him, leaving the matter unresolved is feeding anger and mistrust in parts of the region. He believes a clear action would ease pressure and open the door for dialogue.
The traditional ruler said the issue goes beyond politics and now touches on peace and stability in the South East. He maintained that decisive leadership at this point could help calm nerves and restore confidence.
His statement adds to calls from other voices in the region pushing for a political solution. The focus now shifts to how the presidency will react to the renewed demand.
