Two Bombers Still Missing – Governor Zulum
Babagana Zulum has revealed that five suicide bombers entered Maiduguri, with three already carrying out attacks while two remain at large.
The warning comes after recent explosions in the city left dozens dead and many others injured.
The attacks happened at busy spots including the Post Office area, Monday Market, and near University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital during the evening period of Ramadan.
Security agencies believe the attackers are linked to Boko Haram, with efforts ongoing to locate the remaining suspects.
Zulum, who was outside the country at the time, has since returned and met with military and security chiefs to strengthen operations.
He said intelligence reports confirm the presence of the two remaining attackers, and authorities are working to stop any further incident.
He explained that such attacks often increase during festive periods due to the large population, making it harder to identify threats.
Despite the situation, the governor said security has improved in recent years, while assuring residents that efforts to end insurgency will continue.
