UK Tightens Security For Tinubu Visit
Authorities in the United Kingdom have introduced strict security measures ahead of the state visit of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, warning that anyone who violates airspace restrictions around Windsor could face arrest.
The restrictions were announced by Thames Valley Police, which said it is working with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, the Royal Household and other agencies to ensure the safety of the visiting president, dignitaries and members of the public.
President Tinubu and the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, are expected to be hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle from March 18 to 19, marking the first official state visit organised under the new monarch.
Security officials said the operation will include extended airspace restrictions, visible police patrols and covert surveillance, alongside road closures and parking controls around Windsor during the visit.
