US Lawmaker Reacts To Jos Killings
A US congressman, Riley Moore, has raised concern over the recent killings in Jos, warning that continued violence against Christians in Nigeria could affect relations with the United States.
His reaction followed reports of a deadly Palm Sunday attack in Anguwan Rukuba.
Moore described the incident as part of a recurring pattern of attacks during major religious events.
In a post on X, he said “on Palm Sunday, in two brazen attacks, at least 53 Christians were murdered by Islamic radical terrorists in Nigeria,” linking the violence to wider security concerns in the region.
He also referenced earlier remarks by Donald Trump, stating that failure to address what he called “genocide” could lead to US intervention.
Moore added that “The persecution and slaughter of our brothers and sisters in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ must end now.”
The comments have drawn fresh international attention to ongoing insecurity in parts of Nigeria, especially in the North-Central region, where repeated clashes and attacks have led to deaths and displacement of residents.
