Wike Assures Diplomats Of Safety In Abuja
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has assured members of the diplomatic community in Abuja that the government will continue to provide a secure and enabling environment for their operations.
Speaking during the Saint Patrick’s Day reception and official opening of the new Embassy of Ireland, Wike said the administration of Bola Tinubu is committed to improving infrastructure and security in the capital.
He noted that efforts are ongoing to make Abuja comparable to other major capitals around the world, adding that conditions in the city have improved and will continue to get better.
The event, held at the European Union Complex, was attended by Ireland’s Minister of Public Expenditure, Jack Chamber, and Ambassador Peter Ryan, alongside other diplomats.
Wike also expressed willingness to deepen partnerships with foreign missions to strengthen Nigeria’s international relations.
He further hinted at a possible visit to Ireland, noting his relationship with Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to the country.
