Court adjourns July 23 For Judgement On Ozigbo’s Suit Against Ukachukwu’s Guber Nomination

A Federal High Court sitting in Awka, Anambra state has fixed July 23,2025 for judgement in the suit brought before it by Chief Valentine Ozigbo, challenging the victory of Chief Nicholas Ukachukwu, in the April 5,2025 primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Awka.
Ukachukwu and seven others slugged it out during the said primary election to select the party’s candidate for the November 8, governorship election in Anambra where he came tops .
Chief Ozigbo who came a distant second in an election hailed to be transparent, free. and fair had hugged the winner warmly in congratulations like the other contestants who lost but surprisingly headed to the court five days later claiming irregularities in the election.
Ozigbo had sued the winner, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, the APC, and 20 others joining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to set the stage for arguments as to the veracity or otherwise of his claims.
At the end of submissions and arguments by Counsels to the parties on June 18,2025, the court fixed July 23, for its verdict in the pre-election matter.
Ozigbo had claimed that Ukachukwu did not qualify to contest the APC’s primary election which he eventually won with a landslide .
He had insisted that Prince Ukachukwu
did not become a member of APC, three months before the said primary election.
But the APC Membership Card of Prince Ukachukwu bearing the date he registered in his Orsumenyi, Nnewi South Council Electoral Ward as a member of APC was attached to his Counter Affidavit and Counter Affidavit of the APC which were not controverted by Valentine Ozigbo in his further Affidavit and his two Audio/Video clips.
