JAMB released the general cutoff mark for 2025 Post UTME

Joint Action Maticutation Board (JAMB) trending because they’ve maintained the trend of lowering the bar, as they released the general cutoff mark for 2025 Post UTME.

Universities — 150/400

Polytechnics — 100/400

College of Education — 100/400

College of Nursing — 140/400

According to JAMB, they didn’t set it. The institutions collectively did.

In 2024, the cut off was 140/400. Nigerians lamented that the standard for education was dropping and JAMB was encouraging it.

In response, JAMB emphatically explained that, there is nothing like “cut-mark” instead, the minimum obtainable score.

In essence, 140 was the minimum score for admission consideration. In essence pro max, — the cut off.

However this time, University of Ilorin had more applicants followed by LASU, then UNILAG, with FUOYE and UNIZIK coming fourth and fifth respectively.

Note that, the cut off announced by JAMB, is different from cut off announced by Institutions. Jamb’s is not applied to most federal institutions. Neither UNILAG, LASU, UI nor UNIZIK will admit a 150-scoring candidate.

The lowest cut off JAMB has announced was in 2017, 2018. 120 respectively, but in 2018 it was upgraded to 140.
