Peter Obi releases document to debunk Sowore claim that he was involve in Corrupt activity with General Abacha at Tincan port Lagos

Peter Obi has released details of his engagement with late Military dictator, General Sani Abacha, to set the record straight following allegations.

The former Anambra State Governor’s clarification followed recent social media narratives and political commentary suggesting that Obi had ties with the Abacha junta, which ruled Nigeria from 1993 to 1998 and was widely condemned for human rights abuses and large-scale corruption.

Sowore had claimed that Obi, a former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), was involved in corrupt activity with the Abacha regime through activities at Tincan Island Port in Lagos.

However, in a statement on Wednesday, July 9, Peter Obi released letters that documented his co-opting, along with others, into the Taskforce on the decongestion of the Ports.
