THINGS TO DO IMMEDIATELY AFTER BUYING LAND
You’ve paid, collected documents, even snapped picture on the land. Now what?
1. Do a Deed of Assignment – It transfers ownership to you legally. Don’t skip it.
2. Register your land – At the Land Registry. If it’s not registered, the law may not protect you.
3. Get your own survey done – Even if the seller shows you theirs. Be sure what you paid for.
4. Fence it, or at least mark it – That bush is someone else’s goldmine if left open.
5. Keep all your documents safe – Scan copies and keep originals secure. No go dey look for “photocopy” in 10 years.
