ADC Clears Air On Ogun Congress
The African Democratic Congress in Ogun State has confirmed that its ongoing congress process remains valid and is being carried out under the authority of the party’s recognised national leadership.
State chairman Femi Soluade made this known on Tuesday in Abeokuta during a briefing held alongside the screening exercise.
He said a national screening committee approved by the party leadership is currently in the state to vet aspirants ahead of the congress.
According to him, the exercise is progressing as planned, with arrangements in place to ensure a smooth and orderly process across all levels.
Soluade warned that any gathering or decision taken outside the party’s official secretariat should be disregarded.
He also rejected the activities of a group described as an apex committee, insisting it lacks recognition and has no authority within the party structure.
He assured members that the state executive remains united and committed to internal democracy.
The party added that all scheduled congresses will go ahead as planned, urging members and delegates to remain peaceful and follow due process.
