ADC Drags INEC To Court
The African Democratic Congress has filed a case at the Federal High Court in Abuja against the Independent National Electoral Commission over its leadership dispute.
The suit challenges the removal of key party officials from INEC’s records.
At the centre of the case are David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola, whose names were taken off the commission’s portal.
Their camp is asking the court to restore the party’s leadership as it existed before the crisis.
The dispute follows INEC’s decision to delist the leadership based on ongoing legal issues, sparking a power struggle within the party.
Another faction led by Nafiu Gombe is also laying claim to control, leading to protests in Abuja.
Despite the crisis, party leaders say activities will continue, including plans for congresses and a national convention.
The case is expected to determine which faction INEC will officially recognise ahead of the 2027 elections.
