ADC Raises Alarm Over Petrol Hike
The African Democratic Congress has called on the federal government to introduce a temporary cap on petrol prices to shield Nigerians from further increases as tensions in the Middle East continue to affect global oil markets.
The party made the appeal on Wednesday through its spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, who warned that rising volatility in international oil prices is already pushing fuel costs higher in Nigeria.
According to the party, placing a short term limit on petrol prices could help reduce pressure on households already struggling with rising transportation and living expenses.
The ADC said the measure should be time bound and carefully managed to protect consumers while the government monitors developments in the global energy market.
