Terem Moffi and Jérémie Boga have moved to bring their time at OGC Nice to an end after being violently attacked by supporters, according to reports from France.

The incident occurred in November 2025 at the club’s training ground following Nice’s 3-1 defeat to Lorient. Angry fans allegedly confronted the players, with reports stating that Moffi and Boga were hit, kicked and spat at during the altercation.

Get French Football News reports that both players were singled out because of separate controversies that angered supporters. Moffi, who previously played for Lorient, was seen laughing with Lorient president Loïc Féry on Ligue 1 Plus after the match, which extended Nice’s poor run to six consecutive defeats across all competitions. Boga also drew criticism after inviting Olympique de Marseille fans to the Allianz Riviera ahead of Nice’s 5-1 home loss to their rivals, an action he later apologised for.

Since the attack, neither player has returned to first-team action. L’Équipe reports that both men have now officially begun the process of leaving the club.

“Since the incident, Boga and Moffi have been unable to return to first-team training. Their initial sick leave period was meant to last around one week; however, it has been repeatedly extended. The two Nice players have also opened legal proceedings against the alleged perpetrators of the violence on November 30. The players’ lawyers have now moved to see their contracts terminated, on the basis that the necessary measures to ensure their security were not taken by the club.”

The report added that the case is expected to be discussed by the league’s judicial commission, with a meeting scheduled for Thursday.

Moffi and Boga are both under contract with Nice until the summer of 2027. The 26-year-old Nigerian striker recently returned from an injury that kept him out from October and has made 10 appearances this season, scoring two league goals.
